Publix, where buying beer is a pleasure

Thats right, my favorite neighborhood supermarket Publix, is now carrying select American craft microbrews in some of their stores in the Tampa Bay area. Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be providing some detailed reports on the tasty brews that are now populating the shelf of my neighborhood supermarket.

Kudos to Publix for supporting and promoting American microbrews.

Any idea where I can get some Singha Thai Lager in the Melboourne Florida area? My local Thai rest. sells it there but I am looking for a case or two? Thanks for any info.

    2. Hi Art,

I’m not to familiar with the area. Have you tried ABC Liquors?

    3. 99% of the time I only buy bottled Imports. And I NEVER drink beer from a can. Only low class people and high school kids at party’s drink beer from a can. ONLY glass bottles for me.

Most of those beers on that list are lousy. And the names are kind of dumb too. I’ve tried most of them.

American Beers cannot compare to the Caribbean (Kalik, Carib), European, and Russian (Baltika) Beers. The only good American beers I’ve found are

      1) Land Shark
      2) Yingling

Yingling I drink only for the traditional factor since it the first and oldest beer in the United States and 100% made in the USA.

The rest of the American beers I just want to pour down the drain. They all stink. Just like the college kids that make them.

    4. Hey Michael. It’s YUENGLING.

    5. Yeah Michael,

I’m not too sure you know what you’re talking about. Yuengling and Land Shark aren’t the best American beers. Land Shark (in my opinion) is decent at best. I dare you to try a Harpoon IPA or Brooklyn East IPA.

    6. Michael… you’re an idiot. First of all, Land Shark and Yuengling are two of the worst beers imaginable and in no way represent the selection of delicious American craft brews that have appeared on the market in the past couple of decades. Secondly, a beers name being silly is a defining characteristic of tasty beer to you? Very ignorant of you. Left Hand Milk Stout is a silly name yes but it is a very delicious example of an American craft brew. I suggest you try Victory Storm King, Dogfish Head 90 Min IPA and then when you realize how beer-tarded you were, come on here and apologize.

    7. lol @ michael… the beers he named are mediocre at best.
Yuengling would be my first choice if my options are limited to
bud, coors and corona. Kalik i will drink if im in the bahamas,
just to set the mood right, lol. If you know anything about TASTE,
you will like 75% of the beers on that list. If not, stick to your
      Coors water.

    8. Hi Art, just came across this blog. I love shopping at Publix and I am trying and learning different beers. Which Publix locations in Tampa has the best selections of these beers you speak of. Though currently I am loving Belgium beers. Question, is the Brooklyn Viss (sp?), I had in Brooklyn, NY of the same brewery as the other Brooklyn beers you listed above? Thank you.

    9. Opps, sorry not to Art, I meant to type for the author of the article 🙂

    10. Hi Denise,

Pretty much all the publix stores in the area have the same selection. Maybe a little variation. Most likely, the Publix Greenwise in Tampa has the best selection (though I have yet to make it there) – 2403 West Azeele.

The Brooklyn Brewing Co Weisse beer? Yes, Publix does carry a few of their beers.
