Beer out the Wazoo

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is getting ready to hold the 12th annual Wazoo beer festival. Wazoo has been dubbed one of the top 10 beer festivals in the country by USA Today. While prices are a bit expensive, proceeds go to Lowry Park Zoo (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Saturday, August 4 from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m.
Featured as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, this tropical taste explosion features beers and beverages from around the world, food sampling from local restaurants, a wine garden and live entertainment. General admission tickets are all-inclusive and the event is rain or shine. Advance ticket sales will start in June. Tickets are $65 online, $70 by phone (813-935-8552 ext. 276), or $75 at the door the night of the event. Wine garden tickets can be purchased for an additional $10, and designated driver tickets are $20.

I have never had the opportunity to make it out to the zoo for this event and I am unable to attend this year. Therefore, I am unable to provide much insight on the beer selection that is offered. Has anyone else out there been to a WaZoo? If so, I would like to hear from you.
